Gujarat government declares Dang as complete Chemical-free farming district

The Dangs: The state government has declared Dang as the first district of the state with completely chemical-free organic farming practices in a function held at Ahwa under ‘Apnu Dang, Prakrutik Dang’ in the presence of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat.
A financial assistance scheme of Rs 31 crore has been declared for the families observing organic farming under ‘Sampurna Rasayan Mukt Dang Jilla’. The financial aid of Rs 6.50 crores is paid to the 12527 families of farmers under this scheme, as per a press-note.
The cheques for assistance were distributed to 5 farmers symbolically in the function which also saw distribution of Rs 18 lakh for management cost and Rs 2 crore guaranty loan to 300 farmers under Central Government’s FPO scheme, launch of video documentary – ‘Apnu Dang, Prakrutik Dang’, exhibition and selling stores of organic products, Sardar Patel Award to two families, distribution of 600 kg rice to anganwadi for children suffering from malnutrition and more.
