December 09, 2021
Shamlaji: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a forest guard of a forest check-post in Shamlaji under the Range Forest Officer’s office in Shamlaji in Aravalli district in a bribe case of Rs 300.
ACB Aravalli had confidentially received information that the employees and officers at Shamlaji forest check post demand bribes apart from the standard fees from the drivers carrying woods in their vehicles.
To verify the information, ACB planned a decoy trap with help of a truck driver arriving in Gujarat from Rajasthan with firewood. The accused forest guard Rakesh Lakshmanbhai Damor demanded a bribe of Rs 300 from the decoyer for applying stamp of Shamlaji check-post on the bill after noting the passage of the truck at Shamlaji forest check-post.
The accused forest guard attempted to escape, tore the cash taken as bribe, threw it behind a cupboard in the check-post room and tried to destroy the proofs after seeing the ACB team. The accused forest guard is detained by ACB. DeshGujarat
