Ahmedabdad Collector presents Indian citizenship letters to 24 Pakistani minority persons

Sabarmati: As many as 24 Pakistani minority Hindus were given Indian citizenship documents by district collector of Ahmedabad today. They were settled in Ahmedabad for last 7 years and therefore eligible for Indian citizenship as per the rules after following the procedures. The Intelligence Bureau (IB) had undertaken thorough check before the final decision on granting them Indian citizenship. Ahmedabad district collector office has since 2016 given citizenship letters to 924 persons. It’s worth to note that through year 2016 and 2018 gazzette, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Kutch district collectors grant Indian citizenship to minorities of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan (Hindu, Sikh, Bauddh, Jain, Parsi and Christians) after following the rules and procedures.
