Gandhinagar: More persons have been tested positive for omicron variant of Covid-19 in Gujarat. Four cases that came to light by evening today were from Gandhinagar, Surat, Ahmedabad, Anand. Among new cases is a youth from Tanzania who is in Rajkot for studies, a 48-year old male from London in Anand, a minor in Gandhinagar and a 37-year old woman who had traveled to Dubai and returned to Surat.

Two more cases came to light in the evening. Two Tanzanian nationals – a husband and wife in their forties – who had come to Ahmedabad for medical procedure on Dec 11 have tested positive for Omicron, the first cases for the city. With this, the number of Omicron cases in the state has increased to 13. Both Tanzanians are admitted in SVP hospital.
