Action against Asit Vora if evidence is found against him in paper leak case: CR Patil

Gandhinagar: State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president CR Patil today stated in a press conference here that no solid evidence against Gujarat Secondary Services Selection Board (GSSSB) chairman Asit Vora has been found yet and actions will be taken if any evidence is found against him in Head Clerk exam paper leak case.

Patil said: Whatever political appointment is made, the real power is with officials. Political leader’s interference is least or negligible. Even in this issue, the Chairman is a prestigious person, he is senior BJP leade. He has good reputation in party. Even while considering all this, none will be spared. Whoever is found involved will face strict actions.

When pointed out that three papers have been leaked during the term of same Chairman (Asit Vora), Patil said that negligence and criminal practice are separate things.

When asked why Vora was repeated to head Gaun Sewa Pasandagi Mandal, while entire cabinet including chief minister were changed to instill Nayi Urja, Patil said the decision of that change was limited to the cabinet. He added that this suggestion to instill change at other levels will be considered.

When asked why entire BJP including politically mature person like Patil has come to defend Asit Vora while he has lost trust of examinees, Patil said BJP is not defending anybody. When asked how the students will be able to put trust in recruitment exams in future if same chairman Asit Vora remains on chair and conduct the exam, Patil said there shall be large scale recruitment in February 2022, and media would see the system we put in place by then, so that the process go on smoothly.

State BJP President said that most of the accused are nabbed by Police as per the strict instruction by the Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and state home minister Harsh Sanghavi. He said that the behavior of AAP with BJP office bearers after forcefully entering State BJP headquarters Kamlam in Gandhinagar yesterday was not proper for any political party. He said that no person will be forgiven in the paper leak scam.

He said there is no issue regarding taking actions against Gaun Sewa Pasandagi Mandal’s politically appointed head Asit Vora if his involvement is found, he said. Though only the allegations are being made and no solid evidence has been found yet against him, he said.

14 accused are nabbed in the case of paper leak of head clerk exam by GSSSB so far and the examination is canceled. It is decided that the exam will take place again in March 2022. Question papers of several recruitment exams had leaked in the past too during the term of Asit Vora who is heading Gaun Sewa Pasandagi Mandal. Vora has been a ward and later city level BJP leader. He was Mayor of Amdavad Municipal Corporation. Vora’s role in paper leak scam is under scanner as police has found that same printing press responsible for paper leak was given printing orders for several recruitment exams by Pasandagi Mandal. Vora had initially even denied knowledge about paper leak. An alert student activist had brought the entire issue to light and put before the public through media. Opposition parties like Congress and AAP have demanded resignation or removal of Vora. While AAP had stormed State BJP headquarters yesterday, Congress has also planned protest programmes over this issue. The State assembly general elections are going to be held next year, mostly in December if on schedule. DeshGujarat
