Head Clerk exam of Gaun Sewa Pasandagi Mandal declared cancelled; Re-test in March 2022

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has declared cancellation of Head Clerk recruitment exam due to leak of its exam paper. Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi made this announcement. The exam will now take place in March 2022 as per a decision taken in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister, Sanghavi said. The decision will affect 88,000 job aspirant youths. Sanghavi said all those who had submitted forms for the exam previously will be able to appear in the exam in March even if their eligible age is lapsed.

The exam was conducted on December 12. The copies of exam paper was in circulation physically as well as on social media. Police has arrested 14 persons in this case including the one employee of Surya Offset printing place that had printed the papers. State Police has recovered Rs. 30 lakh amount that was exchanged between the accused for question papers. MoS Harsh Sanghavi said more arrests and even more recovery of cash is possible in this case as investigation progress. Sanghavi said the government is mulling for fast-track trial in this case. Sanghavi said the government has decided that the accused will be punished in a way that none would in future even think about leaking the exam paper or even purchase it.

Gujarat government arm Gaun Seva Pasandagi Mandal’s political appointee chairman Asit Vora is reportedly under scanner for this one more paper leak. Investigation is underway against Vora’s practice of giving printing order to same printing press repeatedly for number of exams.

Meanwhile in a fresh development, a key accused Jayesh Patel and two others involved in circulation of leaked paper are held by Police from neighboring State Rajasthan by Local Crime Branch of Gandhinagar. DeshGujarat
