8 Textile unions of Gujarat form committee to press withdrawal of 12 per cent GST

Surat: Total 8 textile unions including 6 from Surat have formed a committee for withdrawal of the 12 percent GST rate on textile industry.
The unions including the Federation of Indian Art Silk Weaving Industry (FIASWI), Gujarat Chamber, the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SGCCI), Federation of Surat Textile Traders Association (FOSTA), the Federation of Gujarat Weavers Welfare Association (FOGWA) will appeal to the central and state government to withdraw the 12 percent GST rate.
The committee of the Gujarat Chamber, South Gujarat Chamber, FIASWI, FOSTA, FOGWA, South Gujarat Warp knitters Association, Masqati Market textile merchant- Ahmedabad will appeal to the finance ministers of state and center considering the welfare of weavers, job workers, and embroidery valuation workers.
