Garib Kalyan Melas to kick off from February 24

Gandhinagar: The state government has decided to organize Garib Kalyan Mela again in the state starting from 24th to 26th February.
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will kick off the Garib Kalyan mela from Dahod on 24th February. He will remain present in the Garib Kalyan Mela functions at Morbi on 25th February and in Amreli on 26th February. The in-charge ministers are instructed to remain present in the program at each district across the state. The arranging of Garib Kalyan melas had stopped due to covid-19 pandemic.
Gujarat is going to witness general elections of State assembly later this year, most probably in the month of December if as per schedule. After prolong pandemic period, the State government will for the first time go to the masses in the election year through Garib Kalyan Mela, in which the benefits to poor people under various government schemes will be handed over directly to beneficiaries without middlemen and complex procedure.
