PM Narendrabhai Modi to be the Chief Guest at RRU convocation in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), an Institution of National Importance, Gandhinagar will be organizing its 1st Convocation on March 12,
2022, in presence of Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi as the Chief Guest; Governor of Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat as the Distinguished Guest of Honour; Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah as the President of the Ceremony; and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel will be the Special Guest of Honour. The ceremony will be presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice Chancellor, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gandhinagar.
Sharing his thoughts before the event, Prof. (Dr.) Bimal N. Patel, Vice Chancellor, RRU Gandhinagar said, ‘the 10 Schools at RRU are envisioned to constitute the national security and educational ecosystem undertaking training, research, education and extension programs,
namely,
● School of Internal Security and Police Administration (SISPA),
● School of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security
(SITAICS),
● School of Integrated Coastal and Maritime Security Studies (SICMSS),
● School of Criminology and Behavioural Sciences (SCBS),
● School of Security, Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (SSLECJ),
● School of Forensics, Risk Management and National Security (SFRMNS),
● School of International Cooperation, Security and Strategic Languages
(SICSSL),
● School of Internal Security, Defence and Strategic Studies (SISDSS),
● School of Physical Education and Sports (SPES),
● School of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Technology (SASET).’
Further, SASTRA or the Security and Scientific and Technical Research Association, a Section 8 Company, has initiated several innovation, indigenization and start-up related activities for our security organizations and forces and started laying the framework and provided innovation and start-up opportunities to youth studying at these 10 Schools. Each of the Schools has their distinct vision merging to become a holistic one for ‘Rashtriya Raksha’.
Overall, RRU offers 38 academic programs from diploma to doctorate level, in police science and management, criminal law and justice, cyber psychology, information technology, artificial intelligence and cyber security, crime investigation, strategic languages, internal defense and strategies, physical education and sports, coastal and maritime security.
RRU currently has 822 students enrolled under these programs from 18 States across the country. Besides, NSG, Indian Navy and EME officers are also enrolled for diploma programs. Number of students enrolled in various police organizations is just 200 but with the elevation as an Institute of National Importance, RRU aims to ensure that its diploma and degree holders will be recruited in all state police organizations, CPOS, CAPFs and armed forces.
Besides academic programs, nearly 5000 individuals benefited from 122 training programs organized by the RRU. In addition, as an empanelled organization in the field of security education by the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs, RRU training programs have benefited 350 officials from 23 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe. RRU is therefore emerging as a Global Address for Security Education from like-minded and friendly foreign countries.
On the occasion of the 1st RRU Convocation, a total of 1090 students will be receiving their degrees comprising of 14 in PhD, 16 in M.Phil., 243 in PG Diploma, 823 in Master’s, 271 in Bachelor’s and 194 in Diploma. All degrees will be awarded to the students from the batches from the year 2017 to 2021.
