Ukraine Police discriminated, misbehaved, says Nadiad girl back from war-hit country

Nadiad: A daughter of an SRP jawan from Nadiad stuck in Ukraine has safely returned home.

The girl named Prerna, daughter of an SRP jawan in Nadiad, had gone to Kharkiv in Ukraine to study medicine in April 2021 and lived in a flat. Prerna and other students living with her in the flat had hidden in a bunker from 24th to 28th February amidst Ukraine-Russia war. She said that they arranged their food between 9 to 10 am and spent the rest of the time inside the bunker. They witnessed the bomb blasts and shooting besides their flats. Total 10 people including her, reached at Kharkiv railway station on 1st March on foot at 9 am. They witnessed huge crowd there. The Ukraine police were not letting them enter the trains, she said. They beat them and kicked them. They wanted only the Ukrainian people to enter the trains she said. They finally managed to catch a train and reached Lviv. They caught a taxi from there and reached Poland border at 10 pm. The taxi driver had dropped them around 7 km away from there due to long ques there. The temperature was around 3 degrees along with snowfall at that time. It took them 12 hours to walk those 7 kms, she said. They finally reached Poland border at 7 am next day. They had to wait for 3 to 4 hours and finally crossed the border after completing immigration process.

They stayed in Poland for 2 days. They departed for India on 5th March at 2 pm in Air India flight and reached Delhi at 6 am on 6th March. They then reached Gandhinagar circuit house in a luxury bus. DeshGujarat
