Ahmedabad: The first phase of Ahmedabad Metro is now set to get fully functional from August 2022, coinciding with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. As reported in the Ahmedabad Mirror, the trial run of the western stretch of the Ahmedabad Metro from Jivraj Park to Gyaspur has been successful. The Research Design and Standard (RDSO) gave the permission last week after inspection. Approval is now being awaited from Commissioner Metro Rail Safety (CMRS).
Initially it is planned to run 32 pairs of trains with three coaches each on the 39.26 km track. Two rail routes have been laid in the first phase of Ahmedabad Metro.
