FIR against 35 for escaping gangster Sajid’s brother Aarif

Surat: Surat Police has registered FIR against 35 people for attacking the police team who went to arrest Sajid alias Sajju Kothari’s brother Aarif.

The team of Rander Police Station who went to arrest Aarif, brother of Sajju alias Sajjid Kothari at Subhash Nagar ghetto near Jilani Bridge was attacked by a mob of the local miscreants. This helped Aarif and his gang members to escape. The police have now registered a case against 35 people for disrupting police work and have started further investigation.

Rander police on Tuesday got the information that Aarif, Sahin Munaf Shaikh, his son Mohammed and his brother were present at Subhash Nagar ghetto under Jilani Bridge. The police team caught hold of them and brought them to the junction of Subhash Nagar. As Aarif started shouting loud, miscreants working for Aarif turned out for helping him from the ghetto, which included Aarif’s son Aftab alias Golu and his brother Fayaz; Mohsin Shanaullah Pathan, Mukhtar Sattar Shaikh, Farhan Qureshi, Ashok Dodiram Kokne, Mayur Hiralal Pale and other people of the locality. The police team which comprised of head constable Mobatsinh Hemubhai, Rameshbhai Meramanbhai and police constable Bharatbhai Kanubhai was overpowered by the strong mob of 35 goons who successfully freed Aarif and his hooligans and made them escape from the scene.

Surat Police and Surat Municipal Corporation had recently done a joint operation and demolished the illegal structure constructed by Aarif’s brother and notorious goon Sajju alias Sajjad Kothari in Nanpura and reclaimed the land. Standing Committee Member Vrajesh Unadkat had proposed to construct the ward office and new police station building for Nanpura police on the reclaimed plot.
