Over a million aspirants to appear in GSSSB Bin Sachivalay Clerk exam on Sunday

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB) will conduct Bin Sachivalay Clerk exam on 24th April from 11 am to 1 pm. The exam will be conducted at 3,243 centers across 32 districts of the state. A total of about 10.45 lakh candidates have applied for the exam. GSSSB has announced a toll free helpline for candidates which is 1800-120-3047.

In the era of the internet and whatsapp, cut-throat competition and high-stakes, it is very challenging to conduct such exams smoothly without any untoward incident.

According to IAS officer Mr. AK Rakesh who heads GSSSB, ‘we had conducted the exam for recruitment of head clerks smoothly on 20th March, and we are prepared to conduct Sunday’s exam as well. Instead of sending papers to districts, we kept them in the central lock room in Gandhinagar. As per the plan the papers are then sent to the district based strong rooms from where they shall reach the examination centres. The officials responsible can add the details to the online system for real-time basis update on location of papers’

‘Candidates will need to undergo 100 per cent frisking at the entrance of the examination centre. If some candidate is found in possession of prohibited items including mobile phones inside the exam centre, he/she will phase even faujdari action. Inside the centre, only two officials – mandal pratinidhi and takedari adhikari will be allowed to use mobile phones. Kendra sanchalak will need to switch off mobile and keep it idle. He/she can use it only if communication is absolutely required regarding conduct of examinations.’

Its worth noting that the GSSSB Bin Sachivalay Clerk exam for the recruitment of clerk and office assistant was cancelled thrice within a 3-year period. First, it was canceled due to a paper leak. Later, it was cancelled for the second time due to the protests over the changes in the eligibility. It was postponed for the third time due to the change of the Chairman of GSSSB.

However recently the Police recruitment arm of the government led by IPS Hasmukh Patel, successfully conducted LRD recruitment exam. Similarly GSSSB led by IAS AK Rakesh had also conducted the exam for recruitment of head clerks recently successfully.

The GSRTC (Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation) has decided to deploy an additional 1 thousand buses tomorrow for the convenience of the candidates of the exam. The facility of extra buses for transportation to the exam center can be availed through group booking by contacting nearby depot managers. The additional buses of Ahmedabad-Rajkot and Ahmedabad-Surendranagar will be deployed at Ahmedabad Ranip bus port and Krushnanagar bus station.
