April 24, 2022
Gandhinagar: GSSSB has successfully conducted the first phase exam of non-secretariat clerk and Secretariat office assistant, class-3 recruitment across 3243 centres in 32 districts of the state. Total over 10.45 lakh candidates had been registered for 3901 posts out of which 4,01,423 took the exam. However only 38 per cent of them appeared in the exam. A ratio of 40 per cent attendance is considered usual in such competitive recruitment exams.
IAS officer AK Rakesh who heads GSSSB today in a message conveyed thanks to Chief Minister for constant care and concern. He also thanked Chief Secretary, senior officials of CMO and senior police officials. He thanked GSSSB officials, GPSC, district and police administration as well as DEO for smooth and hassle free conduct of the exam. In the era of Whatsapp, mobile phones and the internet, conducting such exams has become a major challenge for the governments. Recruitment exam for non-secretariat clerk and secretariat office assistant were cancelled thrice in last three years – once due to paper leak, second time due to eligibility criteria and third time due change in guard in GSSSB. This time, the administration had taken care on two fronts majorly ; (1). leak proof printing and movement of question papers and (2). frisking candidates at examination centres and strict restrictions in place regarding mobile phones there.
