Congress leader Shweta Brahmbhatt leaves Congress; Set to join BJP

Maninagar: Congress leader Shweta Narendra Brahmbhatt has resigned from the congress party. She had came into limelight after her candidature in Maninagar assembly seat at very young age. She had recently called on Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi at Raj Bhavan in Gandhinagar recently with her father.

In a letter addressing Indian National Congress (INC) national president Sonia Gandhi, she has stated various reasons for her resignation. She states that no works were done out of the things informed to her about Gujarat congress and the party before joining. The central leadership is unable to understand the decay inside the state congress and there is lack of courage for bringing 360-degree changes, she added.

She stated about her decision of contesting in the last state assembly election from Maninagar seat, “Everyone knows that Maninagar was a challenging seat. I still gave my best, reduced the margin and increased the vote share of the party.”

She added, “I waited after each election hoping that transformation will come and conditions will change. Though, the people who openly caused damage to the party were promoted after each election.” She added that the party has disappointed many youths willing to join active politics with many hopes for the country. She has mentioned about her meeting with PM Modi and comments from some senior female leaders of the party regarding her decision of resignation. DeshGujarat
