Morbi: 12 laborers are dead due to the collapse of the wall in salt manufacturing unit in Morbi district of Gujarat.

Morbi MLA and minister Brijesh Merja confirmed that 12 laborers were dead in this incident which took place in Sagar Salt company at Halvad based industrial estate of Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).

Merja said the industrial unit was into the packaging of lose salt. He said the news of this incident came in when the State cabinet meeting was underway. He said the government has asked officials to move to the location. He said 90 per cent rescue work was over and whoever was responsible for this unfortunate incident would not be speared. He said the government will strongly stay behind the victims and their families.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in a tweet announced Rs. 2 lakh each from PMNRF to the next of kin of those who lost their lives . The injured would be given Rs. 50,000, he added. The Chief Minister has announced Rs. 4 lakh assistance to the next of kin of those who died. DeshGujarat
