Bhadrakali Mandir puts up the banner identifying the city as Karnavati
May 18, 2022
Sabarmati: A permanent banner recently installed at Nagar Devi Bhadrakali Mata Mandir in Ahmedabad has ‘Karnavati Nagar’ written over it below the mandir’s name.
The board with the use of Karnavati city is installed for the first time at Nagar Devi Bhadrakali Mata Mandir.
The mandir management stated that the board was installed as the mandir was not directly visible due to the construction around the old mandir.
Mandir trusty Shashikant Tiwari said that the name ‘Karnavati Nagar’ is mentioned because the mandir was founded during Karna Dev’s regime. Solanki era ruler Karnadev Solanki had established Karnavati city on the bank of river Sabarmati which later was named as Ahmedabad by Sultan Ahmedshah. DeshGujarat
