Kodinar police convince farmer not to block road in dispute with private company

Gir Somnath: The Kodinar police have convinced a farmer who was blocking the road to protest against a private company namely Shapoorji Pallonji Energy Gujarat Private Limited, which had acquired his land.
The private company at the time of acquiring the land in Chara-Sarkhadi village from the farmer had allegedly promised employment to at least one member of the family. However, the company later reneged on this promise, claimed a farmer.
The farmer was forced to resort to ‘rasta-roko’ (road-blocking) using his cart in order to draw the attention of the authorities. The traffic on the road came to a standstill because of this action taken by the farmer, Bhupatbhai Naranbhai Mori.
