Gir Somnath: The Kodinar police have convinced a farmer who was blocking the road to protest against a private company namely Shapoorji Pallonji Energy Gujarat Private Limited, which had acquired his land.
The private company at the time of acquiring the land in Chara-Sarkhadi village from the farmer had allegedly promised employment to at least one member of the family. However, the company later reneged on this promise, claimed a farmer.
The farmer was forced to resort to ‘rasta-roko’ (road-blocking) using his cart in order to draw the attention of the authorities. The traffic on the road came to a standstill because of this action taken by the farmer, Bhupatbhai Naranbhai Mori. However, the police were quick to arrive at the spot and convinced Bhupatbhai not to block the road. DeshGujarat.
