Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad logs highest ever 1.39 lakh visitors in May

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad logged the highest ever visitor count in May during its entire 20-yr-old history. According to Vijay Nehra, joint secretary in the chief minister’s office, as many as 1.39 lakh visited the Science city in May.
Nehra also took the opportunity to thank all the visitors of Gujarat Science City for their enthusiasm and congratulated the team at Gujarat Science City for doing a wonderful job.
The Aquatic Gallery, the Robotic Gallery and Nature Park, which were recently inaugurated at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have proved to be major attractions for the people.
The Aquatic Gallery is India’s largest aquarium with 68 tanks and showcases as many as 188 species of fish including sharks under one roof. A 28-meter long under water walk-way tunnel has also been developed for this purpose. This gallery is divided into 10 zones such as Indian zone, Asian zone, African zone, American zone, oceans of the world representing the marine world in different parts of the planet. A 5-D theater is also developed to make the experience of watching the marine world even more thrilling.
Besides, this a Robotic Gallery developed on 11,000 square meter area has 200 robots of 79 different varieties on display. A replica of the Transformer on display at the entrance leaves visitors spellbound. The Humanoid robots manufactured specially for this gallery can express emotions just as joy, enthusiasm and surprise and can even talk with the visitors. On different storeys of the gallery, robots can be seen displaying their utility in the area of medicine, agriculture, space, and in the defense sectors. At the RobotCafe, recipes prepared by robot chef are served to visitors by robot waiters. If that is not enough, 16 robots are also meant to guide the visitors.
The third attraction, which is the Nature Park, is spread over 20 acres and is populated with more than 380 different species. It also has a mist bamboo tunnel, oxygen park, chess and yoga space, open gym, and a special playing area for the children. Along with scientific information, it has sculptures also.
