Vadodara: The general secretary of the Vadodara unit of the Congress party has been issued a show-cause notice by the unit’s chief after his post welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the city was made viral in the social media.
The general secretary has floated a message in the social media saying, “I wholeheartedly welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sir Sayajirao’s city, Vadodara.” This message has been made viral alongside a picture of the general secretary and Vadodara’s famous Laxmi Vilas Palace.
This has fanned speculation that the general secretary may quit the Congress and join the BJP. The current general secretary is close to the former president of the Congress’ city unit, which has also fuelled rumors that the former president of the Congress’ city unit may as well switch over to the BJP.
