Two lifts, second ropeway planned for Pavagadh pilgrims: Surendra Patel

Pavagadh: Surendrabhai Patel, Trustee of Kalika Mandir Trust said that the project has been completed at a cost of Rs. 125 crore. While 70 per cent was contributed by Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board, 30 per cent share was contributed by the Trust. Rs. 12 crore expenditure for construction of Mandir was made by the Trust only, he added.

Patel said Rs. 38 crore budget has been allocated and works for expansion of Machi and creation of parking facility etc are in progress.

He said yearly 1.5 to 2 crore people visit the temple. The mandir corridor was narrow, the steps were uneven and stiff earlier. Now 2200 plus 500 steps have been made proper.

Patel said the Trust will give Rs. 1 crore to State forest department every year for green forest on the hill. Two cheques of Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 60 lakh are handed over to forest department for the same already.

Works for Dudhiya talav night halt facility are underway. Parikrama route is being developed at the foothills of Pavagadh. Two lifts are planned for pilgrims so that they can avoid 500 steps from Chhassiya talav to Mandir. Second ropeway is also being planned.
