June 28, 2022
Gandhinagar: 8 Pilgrimage sites in Gujarat are set to be equipped with wifi connectivity and CCTV surveillance. This move was made keeping in mind the safety and accessibilities of the tourists from different states and countries.
The Minister of Tourism Purnesh Modi stated in a media briefing that 8 pilgrim sites in the state are recognised to be equipped with wifi connectivity and around 550 CCTV cameras. These 8 pilgrim sites to get such a technological boost are Ambaji, Pavagadh, Bahucharaji, Mata no Madh-Kutch, Dwarka, Somnath and Shamlaji. A survey is being conducted to recognise locations to set up Wifi connectivity hubs in the pilgrim places. These hubs would be recognised by the number of pilgrims gathering at a particular place. Alongside, a private company is conducting a survey to locate the spots for placing the CCTV cameras at the holy sites. These cameras would have night vision, HD Quality and would give a complete 360-degree view, capturing any ill elements at the pilgrim sites. A Solar Show will also be conducted every night at these 8 pilgrim sites. DeshGujarat
