Bulldozers in action: 3 illegal abattoirs in Chhota Udepur demolished after 16 cows found slaughtered

Chota Udepur: The illegal abattoirs that the police exposed in the Station and Vasedi areas of Chhota Udepur were demolished on Thursday in a joint operation conducted by the revenue department and the local body of the town under heavy police deployment.
The police had raided three illegal abattoirs on July 10 in Chhota Udepur town and rescued 80 cows alive while 16 cows were already found in a slaughtered condition. They had seized material worth lakhs of rupees and arrested four people during this raid.
The three abattoirs, whose buildings were found to be illegally constructed, were demolished using a bulldozer in a joint operation of the revenue department and the local body of Chhota Udepur under heavy police deployment.
There was widespread resentment in Chhota Udepur town after the police exposed these illegal abattoirs where cows were being slaughtered. The town had observed a bandh on July 13 to register their protest. Hindu outfits, social workers, politicians and members of the general public also held a rally on the day of the bandh and submitted a memorandum to the district collector. DeshGujarat
