Surat: Haji Anjir, the son-in-law of Arif Mindi, was shot dead late on Sunday night in the Bhagatalav area of Surat. The murder was committed by hot-headed Faiyu Sukri, who has come out of jail on parole. The police believe that personal enmity could be a motive for the murder.
Faiyu Sukri, son of Amin Sukri, was serving time in jail for murdering Faiyaz Mohammed Aziz Kalam in the Bhagatalav Janta Market on the issue of parking six years ago. He had come out on parole but ended up hatching the conspiracy to eliminate Haji Anjir because the latter used to help the family members of Faiyaz Mohammed and the prosecution lawyers during the trial of this murder case.
Faiyu Sukri had come out of jail on one-week parole just a day before Bakri Id because his wife is expecting. His parole was coming to an end on Sunday and he had to present himself at the Lajpore jail. Just before his parole was to end, Faiyu Sukri started a fight with Haji Anjir in which he fired three rounds from a country-made pistol at Anjir.
Faiyu had fired at Haji Anjir in the neck. Haji Anjir was taken to Shalby Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries before medical treatment could be initiated. Currently, one more case of murder has been filed against Faiyu Sukri at the Lalgate police station and the police are trying their level best to arrest him.
The Lalgate police also began proceedings to record the statements of those people who took Haji Anjir to the hospital. Besides, they have also begun scanning the CCTV footage from the spot where the firing happened as part of further investigation.
