Surat: Chowkbajar police in Surat have booked Jabir Shaikh (age 28) and his friend Malek for the rape of a married Hindu female after befriending her through Facebook.

The 23-year-old married Hindu female, living in the Ved road area and mainly from Maharashtra is the mother of two. Her husband was in jail in Maharashtra for a year for the crime of kidnapping and demanding ransom. Meanwhile, the accused Jabir Shaikh, living near the Nawab tea store in Hodi Bangla befriended her through Facebook. The accused Jabir once called her to Machhiwad for an outing. He arrived there on a moped with his friend named Malek. They then went towards Vesu for an outing where Malek clicked their photos. The accused then left her at her home. Jabir and the female used to stay in touch and went for outings together.

After a few days, Jabir asked her for an outing at night. He threatened to send their photos to her husband when she refused. So, she went to Machhiwad to meet him. The accused Jabir had arrived there with a rickshaw and his friend Malek was driving it. They took the rickshaw to an isolated place at Fulwadi in Bharimata road late at night after driving through the Vedroad area. The accused Malek allegedly raped the female in the rickshaw. His friend Malek was told to keep a watch outside by standing out the rickshaw.

The accused Malek again raped her after 15 days at his friend Malek’s home in Nanpura. He used to call the female through different numbers and gave threats. The female’s husband returned home after the end of the 10-month imprisonment. The female tried to commit suicide by drinking phenyl on 1st September. She then shared it with her family. Chokbajar police booked Jabir and his friend Malek in the rape case.
