India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) opens Gujarat Chapter

Ahmedabad: Just days after, Vedanta announced a $20 billion investment in Gujarat for its semiconductor project. India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) announced the operation of the IESA Gujarat Chapter at an event yesterday.
ISEA Gujarat chapter will start with at least 40 members. Mr Sudhir Naik will be the chairman, and Mr Ganesh Jivani will be the Vice Chairman of the IESA Gujarat Chapter.
Besides encouraging the companies to invest ISEA’s idea is to encourage universities to retain and enhance courses in electronic and very large-scale integration (VLSI) processes at engineering institutes in the state.
The Gujarat chapter will bring ESDM companies of Gujarat on a common platform.
The event was graced by eminent personalities like Shri Nilesh Desai, Director of Space Application Center (ISRO), Shri Videh Khare, IAS, MD Gujarat State Electronic Mission, and Vivek Tyagi, Chairperson of IESA.
In the latest development after Vedanta-Foxconn signed an MoU with the state government, the administration has shown the investors about 8 places for the project.
According to the sources, these locations are in Sanand and Mandal-Becharaji in Ahmedabad district, two near Vadodara in central Gujarat, Dholera, Himmatnagar, Jamnagar and Kutch.
