Gujarat govt to open the University for Veterinary and Animal Husbandry in Kutch

Gandhinagar: The minister of agriculture and animal husbandry Raghavji Patel today announced government’s plan to open the university for veterinary and animal husbandry in Kutch district.
Patel said that the state government has decided to start the university for veterinary science and animal husbandry in Kutch district. The admission process will be started from 2023-24 in after getting recognition from the Veterinary Council of India (VCI), he added.
The cattle keepers of the Kutch region will get facilities of ultra modern treatment and education for animals through the university, he further added. He said that a total 74 posts including 42 regular posts and 32 through outsourcing in various cadres are approved for the university.
The state government had made financial provision of Rs 500 lakh for the first year in the budget of 2022-23 to establish this new veterinary and animal husbandry university under Kamdhenu University as per the norms of VCI.
Total 6 veterinary colleges will operate in the state after the establishment of a veterinary and animal husbandry university in Kutch will be approved, he added. DeshGujarat
