PM Narendrabhai Modi to dedicate 2nd and 3rd phase of SAUNI yojana

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the second and third phases of SAUNI yojana covering link 1, package 5, and link 3 package 7 from Jamnagar on 10th October during his Gujarat visit.
Second phase
The link 1 package 5 of the second phase of Sauni Yojna will be dedicated. The 66-km pipeline is laid at a cost of Rs 314.69 crore. The water will be supplied to 10 water bodies including 5 of Jamnagar and 5 of Devbhumi Dwarka through 7 pumps at pumping station near Pipartoda in Lalpur taluka and 4 pumps at feeder pumping station near Sidhpur village in Khambhalia taluka.
The drinking water is also supplied from 2 waterbodies of Jamnagar and 3 of Devbhumi Dwarka out of them. Around 32 villages of Lalpur and Jamnagar taluka of Jamnagar district, and around 23 villages of Khambhaliya and Kalyanpur taluka of Devbhumi Dwarka district will get water for irrigation and drinking water. Over 65,000 people will benefit from it.
Third phase
The link 3 package 7 of the third phase of Sauni Yojna will also be dedicated during the function. A 104.160 km pipeline is laid at cost of Rs 729.15 crore. The water will be supplied to 11 water bodies including 4 of Jamnagar, 2 of Rajkot, 2 of Porbandar, and 3 of Devbhumi Dwarka through 5 pumps at pumping station near Jalansar village of Kalavad taluka. The drinking water is supplied from 2 water bodies of Jamnagar, 2 of Rajkot, 1 of Porbandar, and 1 of Devbhumi Dwarka.
Total 26 villages of Upleta taluka in Rajkot district, 20 villages of Kalavad, Jamjodhpur and Jamnagar taluka in Jamnagar district, 30 villages of Bhanvad taluka in Devbhumi Dwarka district and 10 villages of Porbandar taluka in Porbandar district.
