Over 51 lakh farmers of Gujarat to get Rs 1,023 Cr as 12th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi

Gandhinagar:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 12th instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana worth ₹16,000 crore during the two-day PM Kisan Conference on October 17-18. This instalment will be deposited in the bank accounts of all beneficiary farmers. Over 51 lakh farmers from Gujarat will be paid a total of ₹1,023 crore.

The Government of Gujarat has implemented various schemes for farmers’ welfare and is committed to fulfil the PM’s resolve of doubling farmers’ income. The payment of the 12th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will provided financial support to Gujarat’s farmers.

Its noteworthy that under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the eligible farmers are provided a benefit of ₹6,000 per year which is directly deposited in their bank account. A total amount of ₹16,000 crore will be transferred into bank accounts of farmers towards the 12th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Hence, including the 12th instalment, a total of ₹2.16 lakh crore will be deposited by the Central Government in accounts of farmers across India. Until now, a total amount of ₹12,565 crore has been deposited in bank accounts of Gujarat’s farmers.

Launch of 600 Kisan Samriddhi Centres

During the two-day conference in New Delhi, 600 Kisan Samruddhi Centres will be launched. Of these, 44 centres will be operational in Gujarat. These centres will work as a one-stop solution for farmers for soil, seeds and fertiliser facilities.

Moreover, the centres will also provide farmers with all kinds of agricultural tools and also act as custom hiring centre for Agri-drones. They will be a resource centre where farmers can get information and knowledge regarding various modern farming methods, technology and research in the field of agriculture. The kendras will also be a key resource centre for information regarding various government schemes announced for the benefit of farmers.

These centres will be established at prime locations which are easily accessible to the farmers such as Krishi Mandis at villages or at taluka level. The farmers can also buy fertilisers from these centres which will have facilities such as PoS, QR Code/Bar Code scanner, list of stock, a helpdesk and a board displaying the current prices. Infrastructure such as computers with printers and internet connection, and LED screen, smart TVs will have to be part of them.

Over 1,500 start-ups to participate

The PM Kisan Conference will see participation by more than 1,500 Agri Start-ups. New developments in the farming and related sectors will be exhibited by 300 start-ups. Through these start-ups, farmers will get guidance from eminent scientists, farming experts and policy makers.
