Gujarat achieves 5th rank in School Education Countrywide; Overtakes Delhi and many other states

Gandhinagar: Gujarat is on the 5th rank when it comes to school education.
In the index declared on Thursday, Gujarat has emerged as one of the top five states in the performance grading index of the department of school education, Government of India. Gujarat has achieved a 903 score in 2020-21, up from 884 in the previous year. The State has improved its rank from 8th to 5th. Under the exercise of making the index the school education is assessed at district level.

In 2017-18, Gujarat scored 808, in 2018-19 the state scored 870 and in 2019-20, 884.
According to a report in the Times of India, the rankings are decided on two parameters – outcomes and governance and management. The assessment includes five sub-parameters such as learning outcomes, access, infrastructure and facility, equality and governance process.
