IPS Vikas Sahay becomes In-charge Police Chief of Gujarat

Gandhinagar: A 1989 batch IPS (Indian Police Service) officer Vikas Sahay took over as in-charge DGP (Director General of Gujarat Police) as the outgoing DGP Ashish Bhatiya retired today. Sahay will function as in-charge DGP till the name of the regular DGP is announced.
Sahay has worked in the UN peacekeeping force. He has headed the recruitment board of the Police. He had worked as SP of Anand, Ahmedabad rural, and as DCP of Ahmedabad Police. He has worked in Raksha Shakti University, IB, CID, traffic, commando training academy, and in a number of other domains.
The senior most Gujarat cadre IPS serving in the State at present are Sanjay Srivastava (1987 batch), Commissioner of Police in Ahmedabad; Vikas Sahay (1989), DGP (Training), Gandhinagar; Ajay Kumar Tomar (1989), Commissioner of Surat City Police and Anil Pratham (1989), DGP (Police Reforms), Gandhinagar.
