Morbi bridge collapse tragedy: Oreva group’s Jaysukh Patel surrenders in court

Morbi: Jaysukh Patel, owner of Oreva company today surrendered in court, 90 days after the collapse of an over 100 years old suspension bridge on river Machhu. A total of 135 persons were dead in this tragedy. The bridge’s contract for maintenance and operation was with Orva company, owned by Jaysukh Patel when the tragedy occurred.
Patel’s name was not mentioned in First Information Report (FIR), however, he was mentioned as an accused in the chargesheet along with 9 other accused. Jaysukh Patel had gone underground ever since the incident of a bridge collapse that occurred on 30th October last year. Jaysukh Patel has been charged under IPC sections 308, 304, 336, 338, and 114.
