Cracker bursting in wedding procession objected near mosque; Communal clash in Samiyala

Padra: Police have detained nearly two dozen persons after a communal clash in Samiyala village of Vadodara district.

According to police, it had received a call at 1.00 am regarding a communal clash in the village. Police said cross complaints are filed by both Hindu and Muslim groups against persons allegedly involved in violence.

Police said a Hindu wedding procession was passing last evening near the mosque. Those from the Muslim community objected bursting of crackers during the wedding procession. After verbal arguments and misunderstandings pertaining to that, violence broke out between the two groups. Three rickshaws were burnt, while other vehicles were damaged by rioters.

Police said the teams are formed for more arrests in this case. The situation is under control. Police said a total of four persons were injured in stone pelting, out of whom 3 are relieved and one is being treated in hospital. DeshGujarat
