Trees in MSU to have QR codes for details

Vadodara: The department of botany at the Faculty of Science of MS University of Baroda has initiated a project to attach QR codes to the trees on the campus. This will enable students and the general public to access information about the trees.

The QR codes will be attached to the trees at the botanical garden, the garden in front of the science faculty, and the botanical garden on the hostel campus. Upon scanning the QR code with a mobile phone, information such as the name of the tree, its botanical name, its origin, its speciality, and its uses will be displayed.

The garden supervisor of the botany department, Snehalben Chavda, and the students of the department of botany have begun this work. They have used springs to attach the QR codes to the trees instead of nails to prevent damage to the trunk. Currently, 90 trees have QR codes attached to them. DeshGujarat
