Jammu & Kashmir: A team from Ahmedabad Police arrived in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday to take custody of Kiran Patel, and is expected to bring him to Gujarat on Thursday evening, said a city crime branch official.
Four FIRs related to cheating have been registered against him in multiple police stations in Gujarat, the official added.
Kiran is accused of fraud in multiple cases and was arrested last month for allegedly impersonating a high-ranking official in the Prime Minister’s Office.
Patel’s wife Malini was also arrested in connection with a case involving an attempt to take possession of a senior citizen’s bungalow. The team is expected to return with Patel on Thursday evening.
In one case, Patel and his wife are co-accused for allegedly trying to usurp a senior citizen’s bungalow.
