Afcons wins bidding for Ahmedabad railway station redevelopment
April 12, 2023
Kalupur: Afcons Infrastructure has won the bidding for the redevelopment project of Ahmedabad station.
They quoted a price of Rs 5,355 crore, which is 78% higher than the Indian Railways’ estimated cost of Rs 3,000 crore. NCC and Larsen and Toubro were the other bidders, and they quoted even higher prices of Rs 5,694 crore and Rs 5,770 crore, respectively. Although the project will be fully funded by the railways, the fact that all bidders quoted much higher than the railways’ estimate has surprised officials.
The project aims to develop a modern facility with commercial, residential, and retail areas while incorporating local heritage sites like the Brick Minar and Jhulta Minar. DeshGujarat
