Urea worth Rs 88.37 lakh seized in raids in Navsari

Gandhinagar: The state agriculture department raided a resin manufacturing unit located in the Navsari district and confiscated 1.42 lakh kg of neem-coated urea worth Rs 88.37 lakh, which was intended for agricultural use, said an official statement released on Tuesday.

However, the urea was procured without authorization for industrial purposes, and the accused was attempting to export it.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of agriculture department officials carried out raids at Aditya Industries, Windson Chemicals Pvt Ltd, and Shivkrupa Hotel in the district. The officials recovered 2,952 bags of neem-coated urea, weighing 1.42 lakh kg, worth Rs 88.37 lakh from six different vehicles located in these areas.
