Govt employee arrested in Bhavnagar dummy candidate racket case

Bhavnagar: The special investigation team (SIT) investigating the dummy candidates racket in Bhavnagar arrested another government employee on Monday. The arrested person is Akshay Baraiya, a clerk at the government engineering college in Bhavnagar.
Baraiya hired Sanjay Pandya, a trainee police sub-inspector at Karai Academy, as a dummy candidate in the clerk exam. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police RR Singhal, Pandya revealed during his interrogation that he took the non-secretariat (Bin Sachivalay) exam in 2021 as a dummy candidate for Baraiya, who has been working as a clerk at the government engineering college in Bhavnagar for the past month.
The number of those arrested in the racket has increased to six, including four masterminds, with the latest arrests. In total, 36 people have been booked in the case. DeshGujarat
