Yuvrajsinh Jadeja allegedly used extortion money to buy land in Dehgam

Bhavnagar: In another development in the Yuvrajsinh Jadeja extortion case, the investigation team of Police has found that Jadeja allegedly used the extorted money to purchase a plot of land near Dehgam in Gandhinagar district.

Investigators are currently in Dehgam to verify this information and check government records. It is believed that Jadeja completed the land deal after receiving the extortion money.

With the arrest of the sixth accused, Alfaaz Khan aka Raju, all six people named in the First Information Report (FIR) are now in police custody. Jadeja’s brother-in-law Kanbha Gohil had enlisted the help of Raju, a casual labourer, and friend, to assist with the extortion.

The accused allegedly extorted Rs 45 lakh and Rs 55 lakh from, Prakash alias PK Dave and Pradip Baraiya ( masterminds behind the dummy candidates racket) respectively. The money was sought on behalf of Jadeja, in exchange for not revealing their names in the racket, which he exposed in a press conference held in Gandhinagar on April 5.

So far, the police have recovered a total of Rs 73.50 lakh out of the Rs one crore that was extorted. DeshGujarat
