Ahmedabad Metro Court to decide way forward in Tejasvi Yadav defamation case on May 8
May 02, 2023
Ahmedabad: A citizen Haresh Maheta, a resident of Madhusudan Park in the Naroda area of Ahmedabad has filed a defamation complaint against Bihar’s deputy chief minister Tejasvi Yadav over the latter’s remark that only Gujaratis can be thugs in today’s situation. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate DJ Parmar will give an order on 8th May that whether Tejasvi Yadav should be summoned or an inquiry should be ordered under CRPC section 202.
Tejasvi Yadav had on 22nd March this year made remarks while speaking to media persons in Bihar. A complainant Haresh Maheta was hurt by Tejasvi’s statement. The complainant felt this is an insult of Gujaratis including Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Patel, Narsinh Maheta, and others, and he moved to court.
Adcovicate PR Patel on behalf of Maheta argued before the court that prima facie, Tejasvi has committed the crime of defamation. A pen drive and CD containing footage of a private news channel were presented before the court with certification that the content was not altered. DeshGujarat
