Gandhinagar: Several ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators have requested the Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel to waive the entertainment tax on “The Kerala Story” to enable citizens, especially women, to view the movie.
MLA Darshita Shah from Rajkot West stated that the movie depicts real-life events and it is important for a large number of people, especially girls to watch it. Another MLA from Rajkot Ramesh Tilala also voiced the same.
The film has already been exempted from taxes in some states governed by the BJP such as Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. DeshGujarat
