Dahod: The Gujarat High Court on Wednesday rejected a plea for an immediate hearing on the demolition of a century-old mosque in the Wanzawad area of the city.
The trustees of ‘Nagina Masjid’ approached the high court after the municipality ordered them to demolish the mosque to facilitate the smart city project. Rejecting the plea the court stated that encroachers have no legal rights.
Surrounding shops and buildings have already been demolished, and on Monday, a six-foot section of the Nagina Masjid was also demolished. The proposed date for the final demolition of the mosque is May 19. DeshGujarat
