Surat Airport terminal building extension nears completion with 94% work done

Surat: The development work for the extension of the Terminal Building at Surat International Airport is in its final stage, with 94% of the work completed.
The Surat Airport, managed by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), is currently undergoing development and upgradation works to enhance its infrastructure. The project includes the extension of the Terminal Building, expansion of the Apron, and construction of a Parallel Taxi Track, with a total investment of Rs. 353.25 crores.

The development of the Terminal Building is nearing completion, with 94% of the work already finished. The project, valued at Rs. 138.48 crore, has been progressing steadily. Simultaneously, The extension of the apron and construction of a parallel taxi track is nearly 72% completed. This particular project has been awarded at a cost of ₹63.13 crore. Additionally, the construction of the canopy in front of the terminal building is underway, with an awarded cost of Rs. 15.57 crore.
Once the upgradation works are finalized, the Surat Airport’s Terminal Building will have a peak hour capacity to accommodate 1800 passengers. The airport will also feature five aerobridges and five baggage carousels, ensuring smooth passenger movement and enhanced facilities. DeshGujarat
