Ahmedabad: Three complaints were registered by the Dariapur and Kanbha police following attacks on officials from Torrent Power and North Gujarat Vij Company Limited (NGVCL) during inspections for illegal electricity connections.
NGVCL officials were assaulted during their check at an industrial unit in Kanbha. Jigar Goswami filed a complaint against Bhavin Sambhani, Abhishek Patel, and Arpit Patel, citing various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for obstructing public servants, intentional insult, and abetment.
Similar incidents occurred in Dariapur, where Torrent Power lodged two complaints. Akib Nagani filed a complaint against Mohsin Shaikh for causing hurt and criminal intimidation. Nagani and his team were conducting power connection checks in the JP High School lane when Shaikh and his brother intervened, preventing them from carrying out their duties.
Torrent employee Savan Vaishnav filed an additional complaint against Jakir Shaikh, alleging verbal abuse and physical assault towards the staff. This was not the first instance of the Shaikh brothers mistreating and assaulting Torrent Power employees. DeshGujarat
