Gujarat aims to meet entire urban area power demands with renewable energy: Chief Secretary

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has an objective of meeting all electricity demands in its urban areas through renewable energy within the next two to three years, announced Chief Secretary Raj Kumar while speaking at the Infrastructure Investors Dialogue held at GIFT City as part of India’s G20 presidency.
During his address, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar highlighted Gujarat’s leadership in renewable energy and its successful integration into various sectors. He emphasized the state’s goal of becoming recognized as a solar-powered region with a significant portion of its power generation sourced from renewable energy. Within the specified timeframe, Gujarat aims to fulfill all electricity requirements in urban areas through renewable energy sources.
