Rajkot: The commute to the newly inaugurated Rajkot International Airport is proving to be expensive as the Taxi Association has fixed the minimum rate for travel to Hirasar Airport at ₹2000. Auto Rickshaws are also expected to charge around ₹1000.

The International Airport in Hirasar is about 30 km from Rajkot City, and it is learned that the Taxi Association has decided to charge ₹2000 as the minimum fare. According to sources, check-in services are available at the old Rajkot airport until the 10th of August, and passengers have to travel from there to Hirasar, putting a burden on their pockets. However, after the 10th of next month, operations at the International Airport are likely to begin in a full-fledged manner.

Taxi services apps such as Ola is currently not providing the commute service from Rajkot city to Hirasar Airport, stating that the airport falls outside the city limits.
