Ankleshwar court gives two ISIS linked terrorists imprisonment till last breath

Bharuch: A Sessions court of Ankleshwar has given imprisonment till last breath to two terrorists arrested in year 2017 in Gujarat.

Anti Terrorists Squad (ATS) of Gujarat Police had nabbed Muhammad Kasim Stimbarwala alias Abu Hamza Al Mohazir and Vakil Umed Ahmed alias Ubed Mirza in year 2017 before they could do a lone wolf attack on behalf of global terror organization ISIS.

While Muhammad Kasim alias Abu Hamza was from Vadodara and residing in Surat and had joined a a lab technician in Akleswhar based Sardar Patel hospital, the other accused Vakil Umed was operating Dawat restaurant in Surat. He was also a practicing lawyer at Surat district court. They were under ATS surveillance since 2014

They were charged under Indian Penal Code sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy), 121-A (sedition) and 125 (waging war against any Asiatic power in alliance with India), apart from sections 17, 18, 19 and 38 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).

Both were accused of having connections with Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata based modules and provoking youths for terror attack through social media. They had done reiki for attack on a Jewish religious place in Ahmedabad and they were preparing to collect weapons.

They were nabbed in 2017 from Akleshwar and Surat. 75 witnesses, investigation report, data, laptop, mobile and pen drive were produced before the court in this case by ATS.

Abdullah el-Faisal, a radical preacher based in Jamaica, and suspected IS handler Shafi Armar were shown as absconding accused in the chargesheet.

The chargesheet also stated that an unidentified associate of one of the two arrested men had talked about assassinating Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As per a WhatsApp chat between Mirza and his associate, identified only as ‘Ferrari’, on September 10, 2016, Mirza talked about buying pistols.

In response, ‘Ferrari’ said, ‘Yeah, let’s take (Prime Minister Narendra) Modi out with a sniper rifle Insha-Allah,’ as per the chargesheet.
