Centre releases Rs 82.67 crore for 2 Mega Food Parks in Gujarat

New Delhi: There are two mega food parks in Gujarat. One of these, situated in Surat, is operational, and another one in Mehsana is under implementation,” stated Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, in response to a question posed by Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani. The reply also stated that out of the approved grant of ₹100 crore for the two parks (₹50 cr each), ₹82.67 crore has already been released.
During the monsoon session of Parliament, the minister replied that the Ministry of Food Processing Industries has approved 41 Mega Food Parks (MFPs) across different states/UTs in the country. Out of these, 2 MFPs have been approved in Gujarat. The current status of these MFPs is detailed in the Annexure.
Each MFP project is anticipated to involve an investment of approximately Rs. 250.00 Crore. Among the 5 MFPs approved in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, 3 are currently operational, and an investment of Rs. 339.10 Crore has already been received in these Parks, the reply further elucidated. DeshGujarat
