Jamnagar: A controversy has erupted within Punjab National Bank in Dared GIDC here following the discovery of a spy camera within the bank’s female washroom. Allegedly set up by an in-charge manager of the bank, the camera was intended to capture photos and videos of the women employees. After a female employee drew attention to this matter, a complaint has been lodged against the in-charge manager responsible for installing the camera.
According to the police complaint, on August 10th, a female employee at the Punjab National Bank branch near Mahaveer Circle in Dared GIDC near Jamnagar noticed a spy camera positioned above the restroom door. As the regular manager was on leave, Akhilesh Saini was overseeing the bank. The female employee approached him, suggesting that he communicate with the Human Resources Department about the situation. However, Akhilesh Saini allegedly admitted to setting up the camera and apologized to the female employee. He confessed to placing the spy camera in the women’s washroom on August 7.
Initially hesitant to file a complaint due to fear of embarrassment, the female employee reported the incident to Panchkoshi B Division Police in Jamnagar after being encouraged by her husband. Addressing women’s safety, PSI MM Mori from Jamnagar Panchkoshi B Division, accompanied by police personnel, visited the bank, confiscated the spy camera from the women’s washroom, and initiated an investigation. Subsequently, the police conducted further inquiries, creating a panchnama of the incident.
Akhilesh Saini, currently residing in the Yamunanagar area of the city, is a native of Haryana. A complaint has been lodged against him under IPC section 354(c) at Jamnagar’s Panchkoshi B Division police station for installing a camera in the women’s washroom with the intention of capturing videos and photos of the bank’s female employees.
