Gir Somnath: The police, during a search operation, found five packets of Charas, weighing 1 kg each, from Dhamlej port in Sutrapada in Gir Somnath.

Gir Somnath district LCB (Local Crime Branch) and SOG (Special Operation Group) police had launched a search operation after several packets of Charas were found on the coast on the stretch from Adri and Veraval, to Sutrapada. During the search operation, the police teams found five more packets of Charas from Dhamlej port. The local police, marine police, BSF, and other security agencies have jointly started a strict search operation.

SOG had earlier seized over 30 packets of Charas during the patrolling at the coastal area in Abdasa, Kutch. BSF also found 53  packets of narcotics from the Jakhau coastal area from August 13 to 15. The fishermen had found a can filled with chemicals on the coast a few days ago. After consuming the chemical, two fishermen died, and nine were admitted to the hospital for treatment. DeshGujarat
